Mercedes-Benz - Cole Haan Cup in 2015
CCCJ is pleased to announce that the global lifestyle brand Cole Haan has signed up as co-title sponsor with Mercedes-Benz for the event from 2015 for at least three years. Consequently, the event has been re-branded and is now the Mercedes-Benz - Cole Haan Cup.
The 2015 event will be played on Friday, 9 October, at the same venue as in previous years, the Atsugi Kokusai Country Club in Kanagawa Prefecture.
The CCCJ has kicked off its Board of Governors election campaign. This coming June 11th, interested members are welcome to visit the CCCJ office, to meet the nine candidates nominated for election as Governors to fill the seven openings. Candidates will make presentations to the members followed by time for discussion and Q&A.

The Commercial Section of the Embassy of Canada to Japan has kindly extended an invitation to CCCJ Members to participate in their Happy Hour on Friday, October 11th. Members are encouraged to join this fun event, networking with fellow CCCJ Members as well as getting to know our Embassy friends.
This event will be held at the Canadian Embassy Staff Lounge on the 4th floor.
Mr. Calin Rovinescu, Air Canada’s President and CEO will visit Tokyo on the 17th of June this year and the CCCJ has invited him to address a luncheon with our members and guests. Mr. Rovinescu will take the opportunity to update the audience about Air Canada and the airline industry in general since he last spoke to us in March of 2010. He will bring a unique perspective covering the last three years and a look into the future as Air Canada enters a period of international expansion with the imminent arrival of additional Boeing 777s and 787s.
The 2013 CCCJ Board of Governors Election is about get underway with a full card this year consisting of 14 excellent Candidates. Candidate Profiles and election related materials will be sent out shortly, but first, in order to bring Candidates and Members together face-to-face, the CCCJ is organizing a social monthly mixer gathering Wednesday, May 29 at Cafe 246 situated beside Aoyama Itchome station. Come hear from Candidates what they wish to bring to the management of your Chamber and get to know them on a social level over a fine spread of food and drink.
You are invited to an important Town Hall meeting, to discuss recommendations for revisions to our Chamber’s Constitution.
Our Constitution was written in 1981 and is dated, in some places no longer reflecting the nature and goals of our organization. Our Constitutional Reform Committee, including legal experts, has spent the past year and a half modernizing it to better reflect our organization's needs – with a focus on democracy and transparency. The end goal is to allow us to best pursue our mandate of strengthening the ties between Canada and Japan.
The Embassy Commercial Section has kindly extended an invitation to CCCJ Members to participate at Happy Hour on Friday, January 11th and meet with some of the Canadian government employees in Japan from outside of Tokyo in addition to the Tokyo-based staff.
This event will be held immediately after their annual retreat to gather Embassy staff with others from offices inside Japan, but outside Tokyo. The retreat culminates with this happy hour reception at the Embassy Staff Lounge.
This month's CCCJ combined Board & Committee Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, January 9th from 18:00 to 19:00 at TMI Associates.
As a Member-driven organization, these monthly meetings represent important opportunities for Members of the Board and the various committees to gather and discuss the pressing matters of business of the Chamber.
Members who are interested in learning more about becoming involved in Committee activities are welcome to participate as well.
