CCCJ Annual Golf Scramble 2026

116 golfers. A record-breaking day. And Canada’s own Ambassador to Japan leading the charge — at least for most of the round.

Last week, the CCCJ Golf Scramble returned to the stunning 𝐓𝐬𝐮𝐭𝐬𝐮𝐣𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐨𝐤𝐚 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐂𝐥𝐮𝐛 in Tochigi, and it didn’t disappoint. Ambassador Ian McKay had his team in close contention right to the end, but it was 𝐘𝐮𝐬𝐮𝐤𝐞 𝐈𝐭𝐨, Joe Odell, Greg Rozitis, and 𝐘𝐨𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐣𝐢 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐬𝐮𝐝𝐚 who took home the top honours — including the traditional Canadian championship toques (wool beanies) to ‘top off’ their incredible win!

The day was everything a golf scramble should be. Sunny skies, great company, and Hole 2 courtesy of Funeral Support Services Co. Ltd. — where golfers had to attempt the Longest Drive competition wearing full ice hockey gloves. Jeremy Sampson, fully kitted out, came out on top. Fortunately, 𝐁𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐝 𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠’𝐬 crisp Pale Ale was on hand — the perfect cleansing ale to cool down and recover from the spectacle.

FSS also ran a donation drive for TELL, supporting mental health in Japan’s international community, matching every dollar raised on the day. Proud of the generosity in this community.

None of it happens without incredible support. Big thanks to Platinum Sponsor Air Canada, Gold Sponsors Dassault Systèmes, Manulife Japan, Funeral Support Services Co. Ltd., and Fairmont Tokyo, and to Robert Walters and Houze for their contributions to the prizes and gift bags.

To everyone who came out — first-timers and veterans alike — thank you for making this the largest Golf Scramble in CCCJ history.

See you on the course next year. 🏌
