Event Overview
In an inflationary environment, encouraging households to move from cash and deposits towards financial assets has become increasingly important in Japan. The Japanese government has set a goal of increasing the proportion of household financial assets held in equities, investment trusts and bonds to 40% by 2040.
Key initiatives supporting this transition include improvements to individual-type defined contribution pension plans (iDeCo) and the continued enhancement and promotion of the Nippon Individual Savings Account (NISA).
Join us for an evening discussion with Ko Nishiuchi, Director of the Financial Services Agency’s International Financial Center, on the progress of Japan’s efforts to establish itself as a leading asset management hub, the policies driving these developments and what lies ahead for the country’s financial sector.
