Event Overview

As Japan grapples with demographic challenges such as an aging population, there is greater focus on the more than ¥2 quadrillion ($13.5 trillion) of financial assets held by Japanese households. How can household savings be directed toward productive investments that generate returns, and what role can foreign asset managers play?

In December 2023, the Government of Japan published the Policy Plan for Promoting Japan as a Leading Asset Management Center with the aim of reforming the country’s asset management sector and asset ownership. Since then, the JFSA has spearheaded various efforts, including its

Financial Market Entry Office, Financial Start-Up Support Program, and Special Zones for Financial and Asset Management Businesses.

Join us for this special event to hear directly from the JFSA’s Masayuki Sato, Director for International Financial Center Initiatives about the latest developments and what comes next.
