ROBERT HOEY

Funeral Support Services Co. Ltd., CCCJ Corporate Member

Owner & President

1. Name: Robert Hoey

2. Position / Business: Owner and President of Funeral Support Services Co. Ltd., Funeral Service Industry

3. Why I want to serve as Governor:  I would like to be elected as a governor because I feel that my contribution could be very helpful to the Chamber.  Many members of our governing board are extremely busy with their full time jobs and/or live a far distance from Tokyo however they contribute as best as they can.  I am a business owner with a full staff of people behind me who look after the day to day operations of my business. Although I am also busy with my work, I am more flexible with my time.  I will be able to bring my experience to the table as I have created my own business and developed it into a strong enterprise.

4. Previous CCCJ involvement: My company, Funeral Support Services,  has sponsored many events such as the golf tournaments and galas to name a few. Even if I was unable to attend an event I have sponsored to support the event.

5. Proudest accomplishment as a volunteer: Creating the hockey gloves challenge at our hole when we are a hole sponsor at the golf tournaments.  We love to keep the Canadian theme when we sponsor.

6. Ideas and plans for the CCCJ:

  1. I would like to be able to create more networking events on a regular basis. Networking events not only within the CCCJ but in conjunction with other Chambers in Japan and as well as CanChams around Asia.
  2. I would also like to create events that can generate more income for the CCCJ so we are able to have a better working budget.
  3. I would like to spearhead events that can attract younger business professionals in Japan so we can increase our membership. Doing events with universities can create more interest about what we are doing at the CCCJ.
