Prince Edward Island Luncheon

In honour of the 150th year anniversary since the Charlottetown Conference was held in Prince Edward Island, the Honourable Robert W.J. Ghiz came to speak about the great opportunities waiting in PEI.

PEI may be Canada’s smallest province, with roughly 145,000 people, but each year one million visitors visit our Island to enjoy the beaches, scenic countryside, golf, theatre, cuisine and more.

Each year, PEI exports about $2.4 billion million in raw, manufactured and processed products. Two-thirds of those are food products, mainly potatoes and fish including their world renowned lobster, mussels and potatoes. PEI is the largest mussel and potato producer in Canada. The key sectors for future growth and development in PEI are ICT, biosciences, aerospace, and renewable energy.
