The CCCJ is glad to invite interested members to participate in both the (1) Hyogo Global Business Summit and (2) The Hyogo-Kobe Alumni Network and Hyogo Global Business Gathering. Details on the afternoon summit and the evening reception are provided below. Join the CCCJ and Hyogo prefecture for a chance to exchange opinions on how to attract new business to Hyogo-Kobe.

1. The Hyogo Global Business Summit

Objective: To serve as an opportunity for representatives from Hyogo-based foreign companies and the foreign chambers of commerce located in Japan, to exchange opinions from international points of view on subjects related to policies undertaken by Hyogo Prefecture, and to discuss opportunities to work together with Hyogo Prefecture. 

Theme: “Regional Revitalization* in Hyogo-Kobe ~ for the resolution of the overconcentration of population and businesses in Tokyo ~”

(Topics)

  1. What are the specific challenges with regards to attracting foreign/foreign-affiliated businesses to Hyogo-Kobe in order to resolve the overconcentration of population and businesses in Tokyo and promote the influx of people, companies and other resources into Hyogo-Kobe?  (What are the points to be improved regarding Hyogo-Kobe’s investment environment in comparison with the Tokyo metropolitan area?  What points should we focus on as our strengths?)
  2. In order to promote regional revitalization, what specific challenges do you expect to be resolved through the utilization of Hyogo’s scientific technology infrastructure (the large-scale synchrotron radiation facility SPring-8, the X-ray free electron laser facility SACLA, the K supercomputer, etc.) and promotion of deregulations based on the special zone system?
  3. What specific challenges do you expect to be resolved through cooperation with Hyogo, regarding the operations and social contributions of companies/organizations?

*Regional revitalization

An approach to establish mechanisms that allow each region to be self-sustained, and to build energetic communities throughout the prefecture on a continuous basis by taking measures against rapidly aging population and low birth rate to control depopulation, and by decentralizing the population and power that are currently concentrated in the Tokyo metropolitan area.

2. The Hyogo-Kobe Alumni Network and Hyogo Global Business Gathering

  • Venue:  Main Conference Room, 1st floor, Hyogo House
  • (4-4-1 Shimoyamate-dori, Chuo-ku, Kobe)

Objective: The Gathering provides an opportunity for members of the Hyogo-Kobe Alumni Network, participants in the Global Business Summit, and Hyogo-based businesses to gather in one place in order to develop mutual exchange and build relationships with Hyogo Prefecture.
