The Forum will be led by Shailesh Shukla, ICD.D,MBA,BE, Chair of Market Access Advisory Committee and
Governor Yamamoto will talk about Gunma's initiative to invite foreign companies, while Ms. Amano from METI will introduce the Invest in Japan program.

Mr Shailesh Shukla is the Chair of the CCCJ Market Access Advisory Committee and the President & Managing Director of Reckitt Benckiser Japan. A strategic international business leader, Board Director in consumer goods industry with leadership roles across North America and Asia Pacific in both developed and emerging markets (Canada, Japan, India, Indonesia, China, UK, New Zealand). For 25+ years, Shailesh has been instrumental in driving growth and leading business turnaround, while executing geographic expansion for Reckitt Benckiser the foremost multinational consumer goods enterprise.

Ichita Yamamoto | Governor of Gunma Prefecture, on Gunma's initiatives

Mr Ichita Yamamoto is the Governor of Gunma Prefecture. In 1986, he began working at the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), and he was assigned to the New York Headquarters of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) from 1991 to 1994.

After the sudden death of his father, Former Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Tomio Yamamoto, left a vacancy in the Gunma-at-large district in 1995, he ran in the regular House of Councillors election and won his first successful election. With his wide recognizability from frequent television appearances, he was reelected in landslide victories in the following three House of Councillors elections.

Mr Yamamoto was appointed Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs in 1999, Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defense in 2003, Senior Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs in 2008, Minister of State in Charge of Okinawa and Northern Territories Affairs, Science and Technology Policy, Space Policy, Information Technology Policy, and Ocean Policy and Territorial Issues in 2012, and Chairman of the Committee on Budget of the House of Councillors in 2016.

In July 2019, he ran for Governor of Gunma Prefecture and was elected with more votes than any other gubernatorial candidate in Gunma history.

Fujiko Amano | Director for Investment Collaboration, Investment Facilitation Division, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, on Invest in Japan

Mrs Fujiko Amano is the Director for Investment Collaboration at the Investment Facilitation Division, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. She handles policy-making for foreign direct investment promotion jointly with the "Invest Japan" Office of the Cabinet Office. She brings a unique mixture of public and private sector experiences in trade and investment as well as public policy and regulatory fields.

She previously served as a trade negotiator at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Japan-EU EPA and Japan-China-Korea FTA and has held management positions at ASEAN-Japan Centre, Vodafone and a US IT company. As a New York licensed lawyer, she also practiced law at Shearman & Sterling, Jones Day and Sidley Austin. She holds a BA from Bryn Mawr College, a law degree from the University of Oxford and Msc. from the London School of Economics.
