KAYO ITO

NTT Ltd Japan (an NTT DATA Group company), CEO

1. Name: Kayo Ito

2. Position / Business: CEO, NTT Ltd Japan (an NTT DATA Group company). NTT DATA are a global full-stack IT services company

3. Why I want to serve as Governor: I am honoured to be nominated for Governor for the 2026-2028 term.  After serving on the board for two terms – including the 50th anniversary year of the Chamber in Japan – I see how important the CCCJ is in strengthening the Canada-Japan relationship and the importance of this very close-knit community.  With my roots in Saskatchewan, the Chamber is my way to stay connected with Canada, and especially in today’s environment, I truly believe that the Chamber must continue to be an important face of the Canada-Japan business community.  This past term I have served as Board Advisor for our quarterly publication, The Canadian, and along with our editor, John Harris and designer, Andrew Pothecary – we have worked hard to curate a magazine that is relevant, delivers value to you and hopefully is a great read.

5. Proudest accomplishment: I am especially proud of the 2-part 50th Anniversary edition of The Canadian we put together this year to document the history of the Chamber – it was a significant effort to gather and organize historical photos, and now we have a comprehensive reference of Chamber activities since its inception.

 6. Ideas and plans for the CCCJ:

  1. Improving alignment of Chamber activities with targeted industry-aligned through events, building communities/mentorship “circles”, aligning with embassy counterparts;
  2. Strengthening the Chamber’s visibility as a thought-leadership voice in the Canada-Japan relationship;
  3. Expanding membership, especially by engaging the next generation in the Chamber.
