1. Name: Kaori Mick Namiki

2. Position / Business: General Manager, Compliance, Trade Control & Internal Control Unit, Mineral Resources Group CEO Office, Mitsubishi Corporation (Sogo-Shosha) (Former President & CEO, Mitsubishi Canada Ltd. from 2020 to 2025 which is the Country Chair of Mitsubishi Corporation)

3. Why I want to serve as Governor: After being stationed in Canada for 5 years, I have come to love this country and its people. Meanwhile, against the backdrop of rising geopolitical risks, Canada-Japan relations are becoming increasingly close from the perspectives of energy security and innovation etc. I would like to contribute to further strengthening and expanding Canada-Japan relations through CCCJ’s activities as a governor.

4. Previous CCCJ involvement: I have not been on the Board, but I joined 2 events organized by the Energy Committee of CCCJ as a speaker. Please refer to the links below about the details.
CCCJ LNG Canada Roundtable, October 2025
CCCJ First Nations Engagement Event, February 2026
Furthermore, although outside of CCCJ, I hosted the visiting delegations of MBA/EMBA candidates of McGill University and HEC Montreal, and we had great discussion about the strategy, leadership style and decision-making processes in Japanese company.

5. Proudest accomplishment as a volunteer: Through my participation as a speaker at the CCCJ event, I was able to highlight Canada's appeal and challenges as an investment destination, as well as the importance of promoting cultural exchange between Canada and Japan.

6. Ideas and plans for the CCCJ:

  1. Sharing the attractiveness and challenges of investment to Canada for Japanese companies
  2. Acting as a bridge with the Japanese government and industries through my network
