JOSE UZCATEGUI

Ayudante, Consultant

1. Name: Jose Uzcategui

2. Position / Business: Digital Marketing Consultant / Ayudante / Agency

3. Why I want to serve as Governor: I’d like to be able to support and provide fresh perspective in all things digital. In particular, work to improve our digital presence, digital marketing and channels for members to connect with, and provide value to fellow and future members.

4. Previous CCCJ involvement: I have not served as a governor of the CCCJ yet. My most recent volunteer experience was as a Board member for a private street association in Ottawa. Although it was a small board, I was able to re-energize member participation by modernizing our online presence and increasing transparency through better communication. I was also a Board member of the International Internet Marketing Association (IIMA) some years ago, and have consistently volunteered as a Meetup organizer and for various industry events.

5. Proudest accomplishment as a volunteer: My proudest accomplishment was scaling a Vancouver-based professional Meetup group from 47 members to over 300. While this was some time ago, the impact was lasting—to this day, I still encounter community members who bring up the value and connections they gained from that group

6. Ideas and plans for the CCCJ:

  1. Modernize Digital Member Experience: Improve the website's functionality and user journey for registered members to drive better engagement, networking, and resource-sharing.
  2. Expand Digital-Focused Programming: Leverage my background to bring in high-caliber speakers and organize events centered on digital transformation, technology trends, and modern marketing.
  3. Support and Amplify Existing Board Initiatives: Act as a collaborative resource to help execute and scale initiatives championed by other committees and governors.
