1. Name: Greg Rozitis

2. Position / Business: Investment Attraction Advisor, Invest Alberta Corporation

3. Why I want to serve as Governor:  I've been involved with the CCCJ in various forms since I first arrived in Japan in 1991, when I started my career with the BC Government in Kobe.   For the past 35 years my work has been focused on developing Japanese and Canadian business relationships and have developed a very strong network in both countries.  As a 2nd term Governor, I would like to continue giving my time to develop Japan/Canada ties especially when it comes to energy related industries and topics.  I am happy to be the sole representative of a Canadian provincial agency via Invest Alberta on the CCCJ Board of Governors this year as we continue to work closely with our colleagues and friends at the Canadian Embassy in Tokyo.

4. Previous CCCJ involvement: Having first started as the Chair of the Energy Committee and now as an Executive on the Committee, I have been very active in initiating and executing many events throughout the year.  I have managed to attract many of our Canadian corporate members and organizations travel to Tokyo to attend and participate in these events to meet with our Japanese corporate members.  I have been successful in attracting many new corporate and individual CCCJ members over the years by trying to make the Chamber an invaluable networking resource and enjoyable organization to do business and make lifelong connections.

5. Proudest accomplishment as a volunteer: I am proud of producing a highly successful First Nations Engagement Forum this past February at the Embassy. I am deeply passionate about First Nations engagement and about helping Japanese industry understand its importance when considering doing business in Canada. In these volatile times, energy security is critically important to Japan, and Canada is well positioned to help provide that security. The CCCJ plays an important role in continuing to strengthen these ties.  Our Energy events are some of the most anticipated and well attended CCCJ events of the year since we started producing them.

6. Ideas and plans for the CCCJ:

  1. Continue to produce impactful energy related events
  2. Encourage and attract more involvement in CCCJ by our locally based provincial offices
  3. Continue to help increase CCCJ membership base and help strengthen CCCJ value proposition
