Marc Bolduc
Candidate for Governor & Chair

Since the 2 years of becoming Chair of the CCCJ, it has been a pleasure to be supporting our Board of Governors, various committees, and members in hosting various events that resonate to our Canada-Japan business community.
This year, the CCCJ is celebrating its 50 anniversary. We have evolved over the years from a smaller business expat community organization to one that now has over 400 members (including the highest level of sustaining and corporate members in our history). We even welcomed Export Development Canada (EDC) and Aliment Couche-Tard (ACT) to our highest level of membership.
This anniversary year, we also have the Osaka World Expo which has been a golden opportunity for our Chamber to meet with new business people with a particular accent on the Kansai region. Something that we have been endeavoring to do over the years. This has been a golden chance to have a stronger presence in the region, and I am pleased to say that I championed the creation of a Kansai Committee for the region. This will be important to further need to be able to raise the CCCJ flag in a more permanent way in the region moving forward.
If I am elected for a second term, I want us to not only further our series of Net-Zero events that brings forward topics related to the challenges and endeavors of business community to have more sustainable business practices in the energy and infrastructure markets. I would also like to highlight further trade and investment topics related to the CPTPP as it continues to broaden its impact on businesses in the region and more specifically in Canada/Japan in wake of US tariffs in the region.
I also would like for the CCCJ to continue to be proactive on initiatives across the region such as working on building stronger links between our Chamber movements in the region. I have had the opportunity to travel to Singapore, on the invitation of our government, to attend meetings with other CanChams in the region. This was the second of such meetings for our Chambers in the region, and something we will continue to support under the leadership of Economic Envoy to the Asia Pacific and friend of the CCCJ, Paul Thopil. Despite our national differences, I can certainly foresee a stronger future for our Chambers by working together in the region.
Finally, we will make sure to celebrate the 50 years of our CCCJ at our Gala party that is planned for November 14th. We are planning for a strong turnout again this year with 200+ members and guests in attendance. I look forward to working with our new board in the coming months at making a stronger Canada-Japan business community.
Thank you for your continued support!
