On the occasion of the first overseas study trip from McGill MBA students in Montreal, the CCCJ and McGill MBA Japan are honoured to welcome Ambassador Sadaaki Numata to a special luncheon presentation on Tuesday, May 7th at the Embassy of Canada in Tokyo.

With the movement towards the Canada-Japan EPA and a recent surge in bilateral trade and investment, Ambassador Numata will speak on his experience as Ambassador of Japan to Canada as well as provide his outlook on the Canada-Japan relationship and the opportunities for moving forward.

To support the CCCJ in covering the transitional costs of its office relocation this coming May, the Events Committee invites you to the CCCJ Rent Party being held at the French Cellar, Roppongi Hills Club on Friday, April 12th. 

Come on out and show your support for the Chamber in what promises to be a fun night, full of great prizes and shared with the company of friendly faces. 

• This is a CHARITY EVENT! All the proceeds will go to Team NADIA to support their continuous work in the affected areas of the great Tohoku earthquake and tsunami on March 11, 2011.
• The event will be canceled in case of bad weather.
• Party time is from 1pm until 6 but you can come early or later if you want, just check the venue map and look for us in the park.
• Meeting time is at 12:45pm and 1:45pm at JR Harajuku station, Omotesando exit, right in-front of Newdays convenience store.

Two years on from the Great Tohoku Earthquake, many groups and organisations continue to play a vital role in supporting the people in the region and the recovery and rebuilding of Tohoku. 

At this special two year anniversary event, representatives from four groups actively involved in the region will provide firsthand reports on their experiences to date, and give insights into the current situation and ongoing needs and challenges that are likely to be faced. 

A presentation by the famous Professor Martin Hilb of the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland, followed by comments by Nobuyuki Hiraizumi, outside director at Kajima Corporation, and a panel discussion.

C. W. Nicol is a celebrated writer, lecturer and environmentalist who has lived in Kurohime, Nagano, since 1980 having first come to Japan in 1962.

Alarmed at the neglect and outright destruction of Japan’s forests, he began buying adjoining parcels of abused and neglected woodland in 1986, and hiring a local forester to help return the woods to health. In 2002 he donated this land to form the nucleus of The C.W.Nicol Afan Woodland Trust.
