The Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Japan (CCCJ) hosted its Annual General Meeting on June 22, 2017 at the Embassy of Canada to Japan.
New Chair Neil van Wouw welcomed the members to the June meeting, almost a year since the last AGM in September 2016.
Ken Arbour, Chair of the Nominations and Election Supervision Committee announced the results of the Board of Governors election, including introducing new Vice-chair Robert Fuller. The CCCJ welcomed new and returning members to the Board of Governors, Avrom (Avi) Salsberg, Yuko Sudoh, Stephane Beaulieu, Eric DeGroot, Karl Pires, Philip O'Neill, Ron Huber, David Anderson, and Greg McDonald.
Treasurer Greg McDonald reported on the 2016-2017 Financial Statements.
In other developments, the meeting passed a motion for the chamber to host a Town Hall meeting before November 15, 2017 to discuss potential constitutional changes.
This meeting also marks the official retirement of Chairman Ron Haigh from his position.
