Canpotex increases fleet

The third (3rd) vessel under the joint venture with Ultra Bulk A/S of Denmark has been named as “M/V Ultra Saskatoon” by the Sponsor Mrs. Mardele Lynn Atchison, spouse of His Worship Mayor Donald Atchison, the City of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan on the day of January 10, 2012 at the Shin-Kasado Dockyard, a subsidiary of Imabari Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. The vessel left the Dock immediately after the Ceremony is concluded, and being directed to our Neptune Terminals in Vancouver, British Columbia in ballast. The maiden voyage is currently showing ETA Vancouver BC of January 24 local time to load potash in full.

This is the third 61,000 Dead Weight Tonnes bulk carrier, following “U-SEA Saskatchewan” (delivered in November, 2010) and “U-SEA Colonsay” (in October, 2011).

Today, January 13, is the day we have another vessel, the fourth (4th) in the series, to be named and delivered at Tsuneishi Shipbuilding in Cebu, Philippines. The vessel is 58,000 Dead Weight Tonnes bulk carrier, and to be named as “Ultra Lanigan”. Mrs. Eloisa Ilustre, spouse of Mr. Raymund Ilustre, President of Atlas Fertilizer Corporation and currently Regional Vice President of IFA, will cut the cord as Sponsor.

We are also pleased to advise you as a head’s up of the fifth (5th) vessel, another 61,000 Dead Weight Tonnes bulk carrier, will be named and delivered at Oshima Shipbuilding in Nagasaki on the day of Friday, March 30. Mrs. Kathy Doyle, spouse of Mr. Bill Doyle, President and CEO of PotashCorp and currently President of IFA among other capacities in the industry, has accepted to name and cut the cord. The vessel is going to be named as “Ultra Rocanville”.

These new ships are welcome addition to our Fleet. We hope one of these vessels eventually comes back to Japan in future with full of potash that you need to grow foods and feeds. Please join us celebrating our new ships lined up.
