CCCJ Bonenkai 2022

On Thursday December 15th, the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Japan hosted its Bonekai at our Corporate member, The Tokyo EDITION Toranomon. Over 80 guests joined to celebrate the special year end and enjoyed a fine spread of Canadian themed cocktail food and drinks provided by the EDITION.

As an opening remark, Mr. David Anderson, Chair, spoke about how the Chamber was able to hold more in-person events than last year with the loosening of the covid restrictions and easing of the border. He also added that holding these events has led the Chamber to see a 20% increase in its membership. After 8 of the Honorary Board of Advisors were introduced with appreciation of their continuous support, Mr. Sadaaki Numata, HBA Chairman and former Japanese Ambassador to Canada, gave his kanpai speech. He shared his experience meeting with The Honourable Mélanie Joly, Canada’s Foreign Minister, and Ian G. McKay, Canadian Ambassador to Japan, and expressed his excitement for the G7 meeting to be held in Japan in 2023. Lifting of the pandemic will enhance the continuing relationship between Canada and Japan, he added.

CCCJ would like to thank all those who attended the event and made the year special. For those who were unable to attend, please stay tuned for the upcoming events next year. We wish you all a joyous holiday and look forward to seeing you in 2023!
