Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association of Canada

Associations and Foundations

JAMA Canada was established in 1984 as a non-profit association to enhance understanding on trade and economic issues in the automotive sector and to promote closer cooperation between Canada and Japan. While the auto industry in Canada has changed dramatically over the past twenty eight years, we continue to vigorously pursue our original mandate, particularly with the prospect of two new trade initiatives: first, Canada and Japan entering negotiations on a bilateral comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA), and secondly, both countries interest in joining the negotiations for the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP).
