The CCCJ was proud to host the annual Joint Chamber Summer Cocktail event on Friday, July 21 at the Canadian Embassy again this year. A gathering of 13 chambers of commerce and over 300 participants, this was one of the largest business networking event of the summer. Guests had a great time making new connections and enjoying a summer selection of food and drinks out on the terrace. We would like thank Chivas Regal for sponsoring their Chivas Regal 12 as part of our cocktail selection and prize.
The Canadian Chamber of Commerce (CCCJ) had the pleasure of co-hosting the Canada 150 event with the Embassy of Canada to Japan at the Official Residence on June 30, 2017. The event saw over 450 guests from all sectors in the Canada-Japan Business Community, as well as contacts of both the CCCJ and the Embassy of Canada. Ambassador Ian Burney welcomed the 450+ guests on a rainy day, stressing the importance of Canada-Japan bilateral relationship and showed optimism in an enhanced partnership.
The CCCJ launched its inaugural Executive Forum, inviting chamber executives to discuss their businesses together including the challenges and opportunities that they face in Japan. Ambassador of Canada to Japan Ian Burney welcomed the attendees to the Official Residence, stressing the importance of a strong chamber and how the organization can help Canadians and Canadian firms in their respective sectors.
Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) conducts a survey every year on the obstacles foreign-affliated companies face in Japan and the the attractiveness of Japan the companies feel for the purpose to improve the business environment in Japan. The result will be utilized as a source of policy proposals to the government for deregulations and reforms on administrative procedures.
CCCJ members, especially foreign affiliates headquartered in Canada are encouraged to contribute to this survey. The deadline for completing the survey is June 21.
