CCCJ Non-Tariff Barriers Round Table

The CCCJ Trade Policy Committee is organizing a meeting for Chamber members to discuss the non-tariff barriers (NTB) facing their respective sectors. The purpose of this meeting is to provide a forum for member companies to articulate their industry specific priorities and allow the CCCJ to communicate these objectives to the Japanese and Canadian federal governments. At the roundtable we will discuss questions such as; what non-tariff market barriers would you like to see addressed? What are your industry’s core issues that you would like to see resolved? What would a successful Canada – Japan EPA Agreement look like for your industry? What concrete recommendations would you have to enhance bilateral trade and investment?

For your reference, the European Chamber of Commerce in Japan has recently released a comprehensive report which provides excellent background on the types of non-tariff issues that will be raised at our round table discussion. Please see the following link for further details: http://download.ebc-jp.com/index.php/downloads

Based on these discussions, key sector specific messages will be developed into CCCJ trade policy paper and with the consent of meeting participants, the feedback will be channeled via the Chamber through to the Canadian and Japanese governments in support of a successful conclusion to a robust and meaningful EPA agreement.

There is limited seating so please RVSP quickly.
