The CCCJ participated in the annual Canada Network Symposium on December 9th, 2016 at the Embassy of Canada to Japan. This annual symposium invites "friends of Canada" from all regions in Japan, from Hokkaido to Okinawa. Representatives were given opportunities to speak and update on their efforts to promote the bilateral relationship between the two countries, as well as grassroots interactions between people.

In collaboration with CCCJ member ReDev Properties and Trowbridge, the CCCJ hosted two tax seminars for Canadian expats living in Japan at the Tokyo American Club on November 28th and 29th. The seminar advised Canadians on property investment in Canada, tax regulations and concerns, as well as personal tax strategy while living abroad. The seminar is first of its kind in Tokyo in 10 years, providing valuable information to Canadians about doing taxes abroad. For more information, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Premier Kathleen Wynne and a delegation of over 70 senior business leaders from Ontario spent a week visiting Japan and South Korea in an attempt to lure jobs and investment to the province. Two-way trade between Japan and Ontario was more than $11 billion last year alone. The delegation signed numerous deals worth over $120 million while on the ground in Japan.
