Canada's Parliamentary Secretary for Asia-Pacific, Deepak Obhrai presented to CCCJ Members on the importance of Japan to the Government of Canada's Global Commerce Strategy. Following Mr. Obhrai's presentation, the at-capacity room of CCCJ Members took full advantage of the roundtable discussion period providing their input on the opportunities and challenges of doing business in Japan and how the Government of Canada can help out.

Updates on potential Canada-Japan EPA
CCCJ welcomes steps by Canada and Japan leading towards bilateral Economic Partnership (free trade) Agreement.
Dec 13: CCCJ makes presentation to Keidanren Committee on Canada on bilateral economic opportunities relating to the potential EPA between Canada & Japan as well as potential areas for effective cooperation between the Keidanren and the CCCJ. Presentation is available here. Nov 25: In its latest report, Canada-Japan: Revitalizing the economic Partnership, the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the CCCJ highlights the benefits of enhanced Canada-Japan relations and what a successful Canada-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) should include. July 14: CCCJ welcomes David Plunkett, Associate Assistant Deputy Minister, Chief Trade Negotiator (Bilateral and Regional), Trade Policy and Negotiations. More information.
July 13:CCCJ invited by the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) and the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (DFAIT) to present to officials at a Roundtable session focusing on the Joint Study on the Possibility of a Canada-Japan EPA.
